Today is my birthday and I've decided to celebrate by giving someone else a gift.
Here is how it works...
Please tell me what your absolute favorite birthday gift was from a previous birthday. If you can't think of a favorite gift, then tell me what your favorite birthday memory is? Be sure to share why this gift or memory is so special to you.
Leave me a comment with your full name and email address. That way if you win, I'll know how to get in touch with you.
Oh ya... I almost forgot! I'm giving away a $10 gift card to Starbucks.
That way you can invite a friend for coffee or buy something for yourself from their great gift stands. I just love their mugs and the handles don't get hot when you put them in the microwave.
If you're not a fan of Starbucks (which I can't even imagine), I'd be happy to give a $10 gift card to Target instead. Everyone loves Target!
I'll select a winner on Friday night (October 16) so you have plenty of time to leave me a comment and/or tell a friend about my give-away. The more the merrier.
I'm really looking forward to reading about your special birthday gift or memory!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Friend!! What a blessed day, we get to celebrate two of my favorite people coming into this world!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite birthday memories...my husband and I dated from the time I was 15 years old, but spent many years apart after I moved out of state, and then we went to separate colleges. When I was living in a dorm my freshman year, we had a great group of guys and girls that were my closest buds. When my birthday rolled around in April, they arranged to surprise me by flying my love of my life up to see me, and throwing a little party for me with him and my parents...a very selfless act for cash-strapped college kids. I was blown away by their thoughtfulness!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEAH!! What a special day, because a very special
ReplyDeleteperson was born....YOU.
One of my faorite birthday memories
is when I turned 60 years old. I
had never really had a birthday
party in my 60 years, and my two
daughters, Pamela & Vickie planned
a surprise birthday party for me.
My Mom and my sister and my brothers, and other family friends
traveled from VA. to Mooresville for the surprise. And boy was I ever surprised!!! Had no idea any-
thing was going on. That was a birthday memory I will never forget. Thank you for letting me
share.
Love in Christ,
Betty (bamckay1120@windstream.net)
One of my favorite birthday memories happened when I turned 30 years old. David and I had just moved from Mississippi to Massachusetts for schooling. It was a tremendous culture shock and an obedience move for me. Less than a week after we arrived, I woke up on my birthday and was sicker than a dog. I was tempted to throw myself a pity party. What I didn't know is that God had given me a very special gift. David and I had tried for the past 3 years to become pregnant. The doctors had told us that it was likely that we were an infertile couple and that there was a good chance we would not ever conceive. I gave myself the pregnancy test and was delighted that God would give me such a beautiful gift for my birthday. Eight months later, Jonathan arrived and we were able to celebrate one of the best birthdays ever, the birth of my first born.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Leah.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Leah! My favorite birthday birthday memory was probably when I was 10 yrs old. I had a bunch of friends over for an outside party w/a Pinata! It was so much fun I remember. It was back in the day when I had Scoliosis and I was wearing a back brace to straighten my spine. Back then, birthdays were so special as a child. As an adult, I have never really had friends over or anything like that for parties. Thanks for the chance to win. I would choose a Target git card! :) purposedrivenlife4you at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY! What a neat way to celebrate! My favorite memory was only 2 years ago when I turned 60 & my 2 kids & my husband gave me a surprise party. A bunch of couples from church were waiting at a party room that was all set up with the refreshments, decorations, etc. But the most fun was that everyone had dressed up as "old" people: plaid shorts hiked up high on the waist/different plaid shirt/knee socks/velcro sneakers on some of the men: "house dresses"/knee high stockings/hair in rollers/overly stuffed "bosoms"/old lady shoes on the ladies. Everyone really played it to the hilt. My 32 yr.old son had on black rimmed glasses/nylon stocking on his head to make him look bald/hiked up pants to the point that I did NOT recognize him at all! He's in Special Ops in the Navy & never looks like that! I laughed so hard all evening & felt so loved on by so many friends, that it made it a very special birthday.
ReplyDeleteThe Lord bless you on your special day!

What great stories! Thank you all for sharing such sweet memories of past birthdays. I've enjoyed reading each and every one of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting a little longer to see if anyone adds a comment today then will choose a winner using Random Integer Generator from the web. They're all such great stories that I could never make the selection myself.
I'll post the winner this evening :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (Yesterday!) I was finishing my taxes all day yesterday and never checked my email. I hope you had a great day!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday memory was just a few years ago. One of my best friends had invited me and my other best friends up to her posh cabin in Big Bear, Ca for the weekend. It was the BEST weekend I think I ever had (atleast in adult years) My boyfriend was there along with my 2 friends from LA, Sophia and Linda and Linda's daughter Brooklyn and my friend who owns the house Jackie and her husband Bob and son Ryan. My birthday was on a warm saturday in July so we got to got boating and skiing, laughing all the time. Then we came home and played team games in the pool, had a cook out and just acted like kids all day. Eating was the theme so we had a big gourmet meal along with birthday cake and presents. It was like being a kid again and could not of been a more perfect day. It always makes me smile to think of that weekend and how blessed I am to have those friends in my life. I truly felt loved and special.
