Now for our action steps:

1. Log onto www.proverbs31.org and read today's Encouragement for Today devotional.

2. Encourage someone else today! When we pour words of encouragement into others, it will also encourage us.

Thank you Leah, I love the part where you say that in the middle of discourage is the word courage. You cannot be discouraged without having courage and we should focus on that courage and ignore the dis. I am going to replace that with en so then I can be encouraged and I can encourage others and no longer feel discouraged.

  7. When I am feeling discouraged, I try (key word TRY) to think about all the blessings I have in my life. It does not sound like much but focusing on the positives can really help! Also, I just started a gratitude journal which I will also look back upon when I become discouraged!

  8. wow ...this could have been more apropos today.....I wasn't looking for this just kind of stumbled upon it and it was just what I needed to hear today.Usually when I get discouraged I listen to some serious awesome worship music and I close my eyes and think about Jesus and what HE went through for us measly humans...really tends to put things in perspective for and my heart will make a u-turn...back on track again so to speak:)But today feels hopeless for some reason I can not break through this fog...feels like I am under attack in a weird quiet kind of way.Just extremely heartsick.

  10. Thank you Leah for your words of encouragement. I also read the daily devotional from Proverbs31.org. . It really is a blessing! You helped me to see that I need to trust God with all my heart and to have the courage to take the next step in my life. I will be going through alot of changes in the next few weeks like quitting my job and moving 1000 miles to be with my daughter who is expecting my 1st grandchild in 5 weeks. This has been something God has been dealing with me about for some time now and I kept making excuses why I couldn't do it. It is difficult to let go and let God take care of everything, but it is time to and I feel His peace about it. Please keep my daughter Larissa and I (Cindy) in your prayers. Thanks again Leah you are such a blessing!

  11. Thank you, Leah, for taking the time to share such wisdom with us. I have been struggling, and for some reason, forgot about the verse that says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart." I'm so glad you reminded me of this important truth!

  12. Kristen,
I love your idea of a gratitude journal!

Writing down what we are thankful for is a great way to remind us of God's faithfulness in the past, which can encourage and build our faith while we're walking through some tough circumstances.

In stead of a gratitude journal, I fall asleep praying gratitude prayers. Same idea but I just don't write them down. I've discovered that when I pray gratitude prayers at the end of each day, I sleep great and wake up feeling so peaceful in the morning.

  13. Thank you for taking the time to leave such great comments!

Your words certainly have encouraged me and I'm praying for each of you by name today. I'm asking God to fill you with His courage as you step out in faith.

I'm praying that He will replace your discouragement with His joy and that you will have a sense of great peace, even if you're circumstances are still the same today as they were yesterday.

God has many wonderful plans in store for your future! Trust Him as you take one step of faith at a time.

    Blessings,
    Leah

  14. I was so blessed by the revelation in your message, especially where you speak of courage as a choice, we can choose to be courageous in the midst of discouraging circumstances. God's word tells us not only to be strong, but to be courageous as well. My husband and I were called into ministry, and shortly after he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer which has now spread to his lungs. We have been in a 5 yr battle now, knowing that the God we serve is Sovereign. I thank God that this morning the Lord led me to your site, I know God wanted to remind me to choose courage, no matter how long the battle rages! God bless you Leah, and thanks for encouraging me today
